Trick Interview Questions can be the bane of every candidates interview experience.
Recruiters love to ask them, because they're hard. They (should) make you think, and are hard to fudge an answer to. They can appear innocent, but often hold more weight in the decision making process than you realise. I love working on my business in wifi cafes. The combination of caffeine, ambient noise, and time away from the home-office based distractions of the cleaning and washing I should be doing makes it very productive for me.
It also leads to interesting conversations about what I do. I was asked by a barista at one of my favourite wifi cafes on the Gold Coast (Blackboard Café at Varsity Lakes, well worth a visit) what I do for work. When I explained a bit about my business, he said “I can’t understand people who don’t know how to write resumes, I’ve been doing it with no problems since they taught me how in high school and uni and I find it easy.”
